The WRX-STI Stage 2 kit injects based on boost and MAF. When you receive your kit it will be programmed forboost only. You can easily change the programming by following these simple instructions. The CMGS can besetup to inject based on boost only, boost and MAF or just MAF. This document focuses on combined mode. Theconcept is simple. In the configuration mode you set the system to inject based on combined mode you set MINMAF and MAX MAF. Once you exit configuration mode you set the MIN/MAX boost using the dial. The systemwill not turn on until you reach your MIN MAF and MIN boost. From that point it will take your min/maxsettings and then create a dutycycle based on the boost coming in and then create a dutycycle based on the MAFcoming in. It will then create an algorithm to create a single PWM dutycycle. For example, if your MIN boost is1 and MAX boost is 30 and you are at 15 PSI your boost is at 50% dutycycle. If your MIN MAF is 1 and yourmax MAF is 5 nd your MAF is at 5 volts you are at 100% MAF dutycycle. Your actual system would be injectingat 75% dutycycle. This algorithm makes certain you never inject too much due to fast spool or at low MAF.You will get far better results than injecting based on boost only.
