Cobb SF Intake & Air Box Subaru WRX / STI 2008-2014 / Forester XT 2009-2013
Cobb's SF WRX Intake system utilizes several unique features in an effort to maintain optimal flow for performance while minimizing turbulence that can cause engine management problems. Cobb's straightener grid is specifically designed to smooth the incoming air flow as it passes the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor for precise readings. This eliminates the "dead spots" caused by intake turbulence.
In order to provide a WRX intake system that looks as good as it functions, Cobb utilized a one-piece plastic high-temperature composite plastic body. Not only does this save weight, it also prevents heat soak, keeping incoming air cooler. You will not find a more researched & developed short ram intake for your WRX than the Cobb SF. The COBB Tuning SF Intake system is designed around Cobb Accessport maps for maximum efficiency and power.
The Cobb Tuning SF Air Box was designed to capture the cool air supplied to the SF intake through the factory intake snorkle. The aluminum heat shield consists of a one piece surround, directional lid, and stainless fasteners that help reduce a loss of power that could be robbed from your motor by a heated intake charge. All necessary hardware and full illustrated instructions are included.
- Intake pending CARB approval
- The Cobb Air Box is designed for use with the Cobb SF Intake ONLY.
- IMPORTANT: The COBB Tuning SF Intake system for the 2008+ WRX requires use of specific OTS (off the shelf mapping) provided with the AccessPORT ecu tuning device. Call for more info.
The swishhh sound is a thing to get used to but the car feels more responsive now got more smiles per gallon definitely satisfied for what it is.
Amazing look and great sound :)
As with all Cobb products, this intake is high quality. It looks great under the hood and the fit is perfect. By far the best part of this product is the sound. Turbo spool is loud and you can hear the OEM BOV.
This is my second STi and It was stock when I got it. I was so tired of not hearing turbo noises so i decided I needed an intake. The reason I pulled the trigger on Cobb was because I didn't need to wait for a protune to get my turbo noises back. Just flashed the Stage 1 + SF map and all is good again!
Also, I have to thank the IIR team for great customer service and fast shipping. You guys rock!
