Our Up Pipe has been made with beefy local raw materials. The flex joint is 321 Stainless Steel w/ an Interlocking Liner and tubing is a heavy duty 14 Gauge 304 Stainless Steel(competitors use thinner 16 GA) that has been CNC Mandrel Bent and finished up with a nice brushed finish. Our flanges are made out of 1/2" 304 Stainless Steel and are fully machined on all sides(competitors typically just laser cut flanges for cost reductions). We also put a nice bevel on the edge of the flange so you don't cut yourself. You're welcome. The insides of our flanges are "cut-back" to allow the pipe to rest inside the flange which gives you a nice flush mating surface thus allowing optimal flow through the pipe. Heck, we started as a Porting company after all....we take pride in exhaust flow quality through our pipes. All fabrication is completed by our Welder/Fabricator who is certified in Aerospace Welding...yeah, he knows his stuff. A bit of overkill using an Aerospace Welder you say? Well the Up Pipe is put through some very harsh environments so we wanted the best for the job.
Adding an aftermarket Up Pipe is one of the first things you should do to your Subaru. Arguably one of the best $/HP ratios. Our goal was to make a premium heavy duty Up Pipe for you. Up Pipes run in very harsh conditions when bolted to your car so it is important to use high quality components otherwise you risk fatigue.

If you've already installed an up pipe, you know it can be a chore. I already did it once with the Invidia catless. Made it about 3 years and then cracked just above the bottom weld. (Of course out of warranty) Decided to pay a little more for this one and I'm pleased with the construction. Install was as expected and in fact a little easier with the flexibility in the pipe. Been running it for 4 weeks now and no leaks. One thing worth mentioning is the "ceramic coating" that the pipe comes with. It should have been obvious to me, as it was only a $20-30 option, that it would not be real ceramic coating. When you buy actual ceramic coated headers, it's rather thick and around a $200 option. This looks like paint. I cant speak for the longevity of it, but I'm guessing you can skip the option. Looks pretty, but nobody can see it! Good pipe, though. I recommend.
It is a shame that this beautiful piece of work is tucked where nobody can see it. It truly is a high quality up pipe. Install was super easy once I got the old restrictive up pipe out. Fit perfectly on my 2004 WRX.
As the title suggest if Grimmspeed makes it theres no doubt you'd love the product! used this on my 07 STI build. beautiful welds! was a little skeptical of the flex joint but let me tell you it will hold and for a long time. 10/10
The Grimmspeed Uppipe is super solid, pure quality and way too beautiful to be tucked inside the engine where no one can see it. It Fit perfectly in my 2002 Bug eye (EJ205 2.0). Lots of bolts to break in the install but it is really worth it. Turbo kicks in faster now. And the Grimmspeed gaskets were very meaty and high quality as well. My stock Subaru uppipe had a cracked heat shield and a small crack in the pipe after 130k miles.
