The 3in turbo inlet is made for bigger than stock turbos and will not fit the factory one. If you've upgraded your turbo then it's a great idea to upgrade your turbo inlet. My stock turbo inlet actually buckled some where it connects to the intake and I wanted something stronger to prevent that in the future this perrin inlet is great quality and looks great!
Great quality and durability. Once i removed the old stock intake this slipped right in after lightly twisting it and all i had to do was clamp it. seen too many videos of people doing it in over 3 hours. it took me 10 mins total to install and this is my first time doing it.
Car is a 2017 STI with JDM STI TGV deletes and a Blouch Dominator 1.5 XT-R. I initially had a Cobb v1 inlet that never seemed to fit right onto the turbo neither before nor after performing the necessary modifications to the inlet length. I got frustrated fighting with the Cobb inlet and bought the Perrin and I'm glad I did. Installation wasn't bad because I wasn't fighting the OEM inlet, but I did loosen the intake manifold and 3 of 4 bolts for the TGV so I could get the inlet onto the turbo. I was able to get the inlet completely snugged up to the compressor; there's no doubt that it has a good seal. After tightening the TGV and manifold, everything stayed in place.
