Features:
Many drain hose installations have the drain hose close to horizontal or with very little vertical angle. Under acceleration this prevents the oil from freely draining back to your sump. It is also well documented that EJ engines, under heavy cornering, push oil into the heads and can lead to excess oil entering the AOS. Additionally, this eases installation of the drain hose as many times it is inadvertently installed incorrectly by people who do not have experience.
The 3MI Racing Drain Hose Kit has been designed to replace the turbo drain hose allowing the return point to be around 4 inches lower and improve oil return in all conditions. This allows your AOS to do its job better.
In track testing we found that the AOS's were acting more as an "oil capacitor" only really draining under braking. In testing we had secondary cans catching oil being pushed from the AOS and/or excess oil found in the vent hoses. We suspect most of this was due to the AOS designs having more oil in the can than designed for. The addition of the hose helped alleviate these issues.

This takes care of the issue with pinched drain, running underneath the turbo outlet and let you connected in the actual turbo drain so it’s at a much better angle and not getting pinched off anymore.
Nothing thing not to worry about
This drain hose is greatly constructed. Although I have not installed it yet it appears that it will improve functionality. When I ordered this I didn't realize that it's impossible to install with out removing the downpipe or turbo. It will have to wait for a latter time. Meanwhile I routed the aos drain line the best that it could by grinding a bigger, lower hole through the intercooler bracket and raising the aos as high up as possible. It appears to be draining fine. Will keep an eye on it.
Very good mod if you have a AOS highly recommended also recommend removing turbo to install but not necessary I installed mine without removing turbo it was a pain lol
Great quality, I was noticing some oil build up in my AOS lines and I did research and found this part. Makes the plumbing of the AOS much more efficient. Definitely a must if you have an AOS for your STI.

3mi thought of everything when it came to this product, from rotated kit to stock location. Directions were clear and stated the “ifs” of installing this.
I did removed the driver side up pipe bracket to allow smooth routing of the drain line. Very nice heat sleeve included as well. Can’t beat this for the price.
This is a pretty good upgrade to have if your running any AOS System it does just as describe.
