Premium Cusco Quality and Performance
Added the Cusco Type OS Rear Strut Bar to my 07 Subaru Legacy GT Limited to help stiffen up the rear body/chassis.
Build Quality: The polished oval aluminum bar and blue brackets are very well-made and fit perfectly after doing the trunk lining modification. It looks clean and hardly takes up any usable trunk space.
Installation: It was a straightforward, 30-45 minute bolt-on job using basic hand tools. The only extra step is modifying the trunk carpet lining by making a few small calculated clean cuts for it to fit around the rear tower brackets.
Handling: My 07 Legacy GT Limited was already a great handling car, but the rear end tended to feel a bit loose when transitioning corners hard. This bar ties the rear strut towers together and noticeably reduces that rear body/chassis flex. The car feels more stable and predictable through turns.
Overall, the Cusco Type OS Rear Strut Bar is a great and inexpensive addition for the 05-09 Legacy GT's. I highly recommend this piece as it's a subtle but definitely worthwhile upgrade that makes the car feel more planted, increasing cornering ability without reducing ride comfort!
