While the factory intercooler offers decent airflow, its limited cooling capacity makes it vulnerable to heat soak under aggressive driving or high ambient temperatures. COBB addresses this limitation with a significantly larger, high-quality Garrett intercooler core and optimized airflow design—delivering superior heat management without sacrificing flow or throttle response.

At the heart of the kit is a 101% larger intercooler core measuring 26.2" x 7" x 4.25", paired with bespoke cast aluminum COBB end tanks designed to evenly distribute airflow across the entire core. The result is reduced intake air temperatures, improved consistency, and enhanced reliability during spirited street driving or track use.

The system is completed with 2.5" mandrel-bent aluminum charge piping, finished in wrinkle black powder coat for durability and a clean OEM-plus appearance. High-quality silicone couplers and constant-tension clamps ensure leak-free operation under boost. Installation is straightforward and bolt-in, requiring no modification on the Civic Type R and only minimal modification on the Integra Type S.

Despite the increased size and cooling capacity, COBB ensures proper support with in-house designed billet upper mounts and upgraded bushings, providing long-term durability and vibration control.
