The South Bend stage two Drag clutch features a Heavy Duty Pressure Plate modified for a puck style disc with no cushion between the linings so the overall travel of the clutch pedal is short and quick. The designed puck disc reduces rotational mass and also the total drive surface area while increasing pounds per square inch on the surface of the friction material. The combination of these accelerates the transfer of torque from the engine to the wheels and minimizes overall inertia. South Bend Clutch used Graphite impregnated ceramic friction materials that exceeded all other materials for durability, reduced chatter, overall heat transfer and torque capacity. Recommended for drag racing, drifting and limited street use. This kit requires a Single Mass SFI approved Flywheel to be included with each kit when the original design is Dual Mass.
