The 3mm phenolic spacer acts as a thermal barrier between the cylinder head and the intake manifold. By limiting the heat transfer from the engine to the intake tract, these spacers help maintain lower and more consistent IATs, which can lead to improved combustion efficiency and increased horsepower. Compared to the OEM steel gasket, phenolic offers superior thermal insulation without the clearance issues that can come with thicker 8mm spacer.
Each IAG phenolic spacer is CNC machined in-house from a single piece of high-quality phenolic grade CE material. Designed using factory Subaru cylinder heads for precise fitment, the spacers are built to perform under the most demanding conditions.
Each kit comes with custom-engineered nitrile intake manifold gaskets—not paper-layered like OEM gaskets. These durable gaskets remain intact upon removal, helping eliminate the need to scrape off stuck gasket residue during future maintenance.
