I don't know how I drove my 22 vb, 21 STI or even my current 25 vb wrx without one of these. I thought it would be a waste of money, but the additional comfort while driving is worth it.

I tried the OEM armrest extension, and while it’s nice and sits a little more forward (slightly more ergonomic) than this model, it’s less aesthetic and doesn’t offer a second compartment like this one does. I ended up sending the Subaru one back and stuck with the JDM model instead.

Straight from Subaru in Japan. Excellent quality, perfect fit. Very easy install. Since you use your original armrest all the stitching etc. matches. Raises the armrest to a usable position. Same height as the door armrest. Feels a little different / elbow has to go over it when shifting, but finding it's actually helpful, as your elbow can sit on the armrest while shifting in 2, 4 & 6. And the extra storage is great.
