Why the OEM Inlet Falls Short
The factory turbo inlet uses a venturi-style ejector that constantly leaks boost to maintain EVAP sensor readings. Under wide-open throttle, this leak forces the turbo to work harder, increasing charge temps, reducing intercooler efficiency, and limiting top-end performance. Subaru even runs coolant under the inlet to prevent freezing—raising inlet temperatures to nearly 200°F and heating the air before it reaches the turbo.
How OVERTAKE Solves It
OVERTAKE eliminates the OEM boost leak entirely by using the engine’s vacuum pump as a clean, regulated vacuum source positioned closer to the EVAP sensor. An included restrictor pill ensures perfect operation without affecting braking performance. Not insanely easy but you can always follow the YouTube video. They do a great job at walking you through the install.
Great upgrade from the factory. Makes turbo noises sound better!! With ETS intake of course.
This part is amazing quality wise. Came with everything needed to install! I followed along with the overtake YouTube video on how to install this and it took maybe 30 minutes from start to finish. Quick tip I would recommend is get yourself some hose clamp pliers and you'll barely lose any coolant when removing I have an ets intake and it fit right up with no issues!
It included the coolant hose that I would have bought anyways. The biggest pro was the additional included hose that allows you to not have to chop up your stock ones. I like the pill restricted better than the built in restricter in the t fitting from Perrin. Overall, solid product. Would buy again.
This inlet fit great with my ets intake. Like others said the vacuum lines can be a pain but its doable if you just watch their install video step by step and take your time. I think I received an old version because I only had sections of 3/8 hose instead of an entire new line for the booster pump. Would have been nice for an entire new line but the sections they supplied worked with a measure twice cut once mentality. Do yourself a favor and get hose pinch pliers to limit the coolant lost.
