Super Cool. Way better than the little factory piece of black plastic. Straight forward install, but people talk about the one nut being difficult to reach under and get started. Good ideas of using tape, or plastic wrap on your wrench to hold the nut, but I came up with an even better way. ***You can actually put all the all pieces (bolt, pully cover, long spacer, washer, nut) together, loosely and get the nut started, then slide the whole thing into the "hole" on the car. The hole where you remove the factory grommet isn't actually a full hole, but has a slight cut-out...kind of like a "C". It's not big enough for the nub on the long spacer, but it IS just big enough for the bolt to slide in. Then tighten it up.
NOTE: The Pully Cover does NOT have a WRX logo on it. I put that on. Had an extra sticker lying around ;)
Looks awesome, nice touch to the engine bay. A tiny bit tricky to reach the nuts underneath to tighten down the hex head bolts but that’s really it.
I've never understood why Subaru uses the same ugly plastic cover every time they put a car together? Enter this fine piece of bent and powdercoated metal to cover up those darn pulleys from your sensitive eyeballs. Fits perfect and comes in great color options for you dress up needs. Tape on one side of a wrench makes installing one of the nuts an easier job. Get ones of these.
Little bit more tedious compared to the fender pieces / radiator shroud but not very complicated. Mostly getting the right side washer and nut under the smaller bracket with very little space. I recommend going from the top side to place the washer and then holding the washer in place from the right side while you bring in the nut from the top side again and hand tighten until it’s screwed on and then getting a little wrench to hold it while you tighten with the provided Allen wrench. Overall I love the look and would highly recommend.
