Many Subie owners experience a burning oil problem or blue smoke coming from their exhaust after installing aftermarket J-Pipes or turboback exhaust systems. Installing these parts can cause a change in exhaust pressure, allowing engine oil to escape out of the turbo seals. This leaks into the exhaust creating the burning oil smell and blue smoke that many people see.
HOW THE PERRIN PART WORKS
The PERRIN Turbo Sump Restrictor makes the turbo
sump pump more effective at sucking oil out of the turbo sump. This in turn creates a slight vacuum on the turbo sump creating a proper balance of exhaust pressure and vacuum on the turbo seals, significantly
reducing the amount of leaking around the turbo
seals. This does not change the oil flow to the turbo or
create any wear.

Perfect plug and play for the 2018-2021 wrx and like always a quality part from Perrin. Keep making great parts for the subaru community please and thank you. I have quite a few perrin parts from the shifter super stop and the pully cover fender shrouds P dipstick handle, oil cap radiator shroud the detent kit stainless steel clutch line and clutchdelay valve delete and also have their overflow tank and plan on getting their oil cooler kit and front and rear strut brace bars. So yeah love the parts Perrin
Did exactly what it's supposed to!
Purchased my car with an aftermarket J pipe. Noticed that at idle I could smell oil and see puffs of blueish gray smoke out the exhaust. Oil....scared me but after doing some research and installing this part, the issue is completely fixed! Shipping was also super quick too. Can't beat that! Thanks IIR, keep it up!

Fixed my smoke issue at idle just as advertised
Perrin gives great install instructions. Easy install. Did this while doing my J pipe. Can't say it stopped smoke, but I have none after doing my protune.
