Note: 2004-2005 Forester XT Owners will need a 2002-2005 WRX style blow off valve and recirculation hose to use this intercooler.

The Process West Top Mount Intercooler Kit is engineered to improve cooling efficiency, reduce heat soak, and deliver more consistent performance for the Subaru Forester XT.

Rather than simply increasing intercooler size, Process West designed the core, splitter, and Y-pipe as a complete system to maximize airflow and charge-air distribution.

Optimized 90mm Core

Process West uses a 90mm core rather than the thicker 114mm designs found on some aftermarket intercoolers. Because air entering a top-mount system must make a sharp turn through the hood scoop, excessive core thickness can restrict airflow.

The 90mm design balances cooling capacity with airflow efficiency, allowing ambient air to move effectively through the core.

Full-Core Airflow

A larger intercooler provides little benefit if the factory ducting only directs air across part of the core. Process West addresses this with a custom-sized splitter designed to direct ambient airflow across the entire intercooler surface.

High-Flow Silicone Y-Pipe

The included Process West silicone Y-pipe is engineered to distribute compressed air evenly across the full width of the intercooler core, helping maximize cooling efficiency and reduce uneven flow.

Proven Performance

Back-to-back testing on a 2005 Subaru WRX showed:

• Process West system: 115.5 kW
• Factory intercooler: 107.5 kW
• Process West peak outlet temperature: 51°C
• Factory peak outlet temperature: 66°C

During repeated testing, the factory intercooler reached 84°C after three consecutive runs.

Real-world mountain driving showed an even greater difference:

• Process West system: maximum 43°C
• Factory intercooler: 72°C and still climbing
