Many Subie owners experience a burning oil problem or blue smoke coming from their exhaust after installing aftermarket J-Pipes or turboback exhaust systems. Installing these parts on 2015+ WRX's or 2014+ Forester XT's causes a change in exhaust pressure, allowing engine oil to escape out the turbo seals. This leaks into the exhaust creating the burning oil smell and blue smoke that many people see.

Worth a try
Purchased sump restrictor after upgrading exhaust from the headers back, noticed a oil burning smell and a bit of smoke. After installing the restrictor it helped cure the issue I was running into. Recommend if having the same or similar issues, very easy install, less than a 10min update start to finish
one of the mod i should of done from the start. on first start i was able to notice drastic difference in the amount of smoke coming out the tail pipe

Solved my smoking issue
After putting this little piece in the smoke after my j pipe installed immediately stopped the smell still there but it has decreased

The part seems well made and was super easy to install.
Works as promised! Perrin doesn’t upset when it comes to fixing those minor issues with the FA20. If you guys dont have this on your car. I highly recommend.
