US vehicles come with a boring, black push to start button. You could swap out the whole button mechanism for a red button from Japan, but you sure could save a bit of dough by using our replacement kit. It gives you a quality red push to start button and comes with a couple trim tools for installation.
Simply insert the metal tool at the 12 o'clock position. The center of the metal tool has a small hook. Point this towards the button. See our photo for reference. It must be pushed down behind the original button. You may need to use the blue trim tool and / or a screwdriver to make sure it lodges behind the original button.
I broke the removal tool, ended up removing the start button assembly which is easy. Overall very satisfied with it.
