You don't need this if you've ordered the ujoint from turn in concept
The turn in concept ujoin already come with a pivot bushing. But it's still a really good product to have.
We here at TiC are pleased to bring you this little goodie - the 5MT pivot bushings. Many many people have asked about these, and it has taken us a while to get them out, but here they are. Designed to replace the bushings and sleeve in the shift lever pivot point they help to contribute a much more solid and connected feeling to the lever.
Let's be honest here - Subaru shifters are sloppy. Wiggle Waggle Floppy Sloppy. The stock soft bushings are a good reason for a large portion of the slop, and as they age it only gets worse. As far as we know these are the only ones on the market.
Please note!!! This is the WIDE version. It will fit the shifter if you have the wide pivot point found on the stock shifter. If you have a 97-01 RS or the SPT shortshifter in an 02-07 car you want the narrow version. All 08+ 5MT cars use the wide version. If in doubt please ask us!! If you do not know which version you need then email us before ordering.ATTENTION 2008 STI OWNERS!!!!! If you are going to continue to use the STOCK lever then this is the version you need!!! This is due to some lever changes Subaru made for the 2008.

Huge upgrade when trying to remove shifter sloppiness. I paired these bushings with a Cobb drivetrain kit (shifter linkage mounts + short throw shifter) and a Grimmspeed stainless knob.
Any one of these mods (or all) will help crisp up your shifts. As you make shifting tighter (and shorter), I recommend getting a heavier knob to help shifts throw easier.
Cost is excellent, shipped really fast. Very easy to install, the process is the same for all imprezas and wrx of this generation.
Remove some screws by the parking brake and in the hand rest compartment between the front seat, undo your shift knob, pull back on center cup holder plastic and shift trim goes up vertically.
Remove ashtry and place to the side. Undo the screw to the old pivot bushings and remove. Press new bushing into place with fingers, USE GREASE on outside of bushing where it meets the fork and screw back in to a firm hold. Do not go too tight.
Reverse removal steps.
Came with wide barrel and short barrel in case your shifter is not stock.
Makes the shifting more firm and precise, fixing stock slop, without modification or extra stress on your synchros. Made my car faster by better shifting.
That little jiggle while the shifter sits in nuetral, no more. Well worth the investment. Do the linkage at the same time.
