Torque Solution Thermal Downpipe Blanket Titanium Subaru WRX 2002-2014 / STI 2004-2021 | TS-TH-SDPL

I wanted to keep engine compartment temps as low as possible on my 13 STi rebuild project. Heat is what caused my radiator to fail and head gasket to go. Included Tomei UEL header/uppipe, Cobb 20G T and Cobb DP on the rebuild and they are gonna generate some heat. Used TI wrap for the header, Cobb blanket for the T and these fantastic Torque Solution blankets for the DP & UP. The Torque Solutions DP blanket and Uppipe blanket fit perfect, look outstanding and are highly recommended. Did have to cut a hole in the DP blanket so the WB sensor could go through and that worked well. TS should could consider designing in the hole for the WB sensor. I don't have any numbers to provide but I can tell you that my TMIC is cooler after a long drive or standing in traffic than it used to be, especially on hot summer days. I did install this with the downpipe still on the car and also did the uppipe blanket. It's a tight working space but it is possible, just have patience.

This is a good quality blanket ,it cooled the under side of Hood down.

A bit of a pain to put on. I have a heatshield over my turbo which made the reach in a bit tight, but i still made it without having to unbolt anything. Without the heatshield in the way it would have been a breeze. It is hard for me to tell if there was any change in spool up. I do see lower under hood temps and the sound inside the car is muted a bit. Removing the DP for wrapping only to have lower performance than the blanket makes the extra cost of the blanket worth it to me.
