The COBB Shift Plate for your Subaru WRX is designed to reduce overall shift throw while maintaining an OEM-like feel. Two adjustment points allow for either 15% or 35% reductions in shift throw. Weighing in at 825g, the COBB Shift Plate maintains a moment of inertia comparable to the stock part which provides effortless gear changes. The slim design allows for the factory-installed splash guard and heat shields to remain installed for an OEM-level of protection.
This was not really that hard to install just make sure you have the right tools. The shift throw is so much shorter and crisper now. This with the brass shifter bushing is the way to go. COBB made the perfect shift plate here the factory shield still fits without trimming if you want to keep it. Excellent purchase great mod would highly recommend this.
Shift plate may be a tight fit but nonetheless, an easy install and changes the way I shift. Shorter and crispier shifts all around

No major issues on the install with 40k miles on northern climate. Patience was required to get the push pin out and a small pry bar was needed to get the OEM shift plate to slide out of the transmission shifter shaft. Again, patience was required. Cobb plate was easy to install. Be sure to apply plenty of Lock-tite. Use red for more piece of mind and get a good wrench to tighten the shift plate pin into the shifter plate. Allow 24 hours for lock-tite to fully set. Will check again after 1000 miles to make sure nothing has losen up. I do absolutely love the new shorter throws. I paired with a Billetworkz short throw shifter and brass bushing. What a major difference. Set it up with the inner location for a total shortest throw distance of about 1" each way. To me it feels perfect but you can choose the outter location to be less aggressive. I tested both locations before locking the inner pin location. Love that the Cobb retains the dust shield.

I highly recommend this upgrade it reallllllllly changes the feel of the shifter. Install just requires some patience and the right tools.
This plate is a game changer! I set mine for 35% and it feels incredibly notchy. On the stock setup, I misshifted often because of the long throws. Now I can shift into the correct gears quickly with confidence. I also installed the Cobb shifter bushing which removes slop. I rate the install as a 3/5 on jack stands. The top and rear bolts on the heat shield are difficult to loosen because of the tight clearance. But the effort is worth it!
This is the only shifter plate for the 2022+ wrx that retains the shifter plate guard!
This has stiffen the shifter and made it so much crispier. The shifts are notchy, i went with the 35% throw and what a difference. I am very happy with this purchase!
