The COBB Shift Plate for your Subaru WRX is designed to reduce overall shift throw while maintaining an OEM-like feel. Two adjustment points allow for either 15% or 35% reductions in shift throw. Weighing in at 825g, the COBB Shift Plate maintains a moment of inertia comparable to the stock part which provides effortless gear changes. The slim design allows for the factory-installed splash guard and heat shields to remain installed for an OEM-level of protection.
Was a pain of an install but I knew that going in. Besides the rolled pin and the bolt above the heat shield everything was pretty smooth.
I paired this with my Billetworkz short shifter and it’s game changing. 35% shorter almost feels too short but I know once I get used to it I’ll love it.
Solid build quality and would definitely get one again.
Shifts feel much improved, along with shorter throws. Being able to retain the dust shield is another plus.

I installed (along with the Group N Transmission Mount and a brass bushing) and my STi short-throw shifter is even better than it was before. 5th gear was hard for me to get into with the Perrin Super Shift Stop package, but now it goes in like a breeze. I set it on the shortest reduction, and even with the STi short-throw, I don't think it's too short, although I was worried it would be. Fantastic product. Highly recommend installing with a lift.
I purchased this over other options due to being able to retain the stock dust shield, easy install and improves the shifter feel 100%! Everything you need is included in the box.
Like a whole new transmission. Much crisper/notchy shifts, but in a good way. I got the Cobb plate for the adjustable cable pin thinking I would add a short shifter later on. Super fast shipping.
This is the single best bang for the buck mod out there for the VA WRX
I really wish I would’ve done this mod sooner since it was the last piece to my shifter mods. I have this set on the 35% reduction paired with my Boomba short shift lever and Perrin brass shifter bushing and it’s like I’m flicking a light switch through my gears. Everything feels so much better compared to stock and even after a whole year with just the Boomba short shift assembly. Highly recommend a new set of punches to get the two roll pins out of your OEM shift plate
If you are wanting to add that next step to your shifter experience you need this. You get to options to reduce shifter throw with this plate. It also makes the shifter gates easier to get into as well.
Quality you expect from Cobb. Much better feel while keeping the positives of the OEM short throw shifter.
