Simplify your 2015-2017 Subaru STI engine bay with The GrimmSpeed Sound Generator Plug Kit. The stock sound generator is an unnecessary system that contributes to a cluttered engine bay and can give an unwanted, artificial sound inside of the car. The problem with getting rid of this clunky setup is that you’re left with a hole in the intake tract. The GrimmSpeed Sound Generator Plug Kit is your solution.
This piece is a high quality machined, anodized and laser-etched aluminum plug that is designed to perfectly contour and seal inside the stock post-MAF hose on a 15-17 STI. The outside flange is sized for flush fitment, making installation and removal incredibly easy. Once installed there is a subtle flash of anodized aluminum with the GrimmSpeed logo visible from all angles.
The plug is available with either a black or red anodized finish and laser-etched GS logo for a high-end, premium look in the engine bay and requires no modification to install. A new Breeze hose clamp is included to replace the stock spring clamp, along with a cap for the firewall side.
Quick Specs:

*Direct fit for 2015-17 STI only (Other STI years do not have the OE sound generator tube)
The block off plug is an extremely nice piece, however i did have issues with throttle response, shifting and a CEL. When the OEM sound generator tube was put back on it seemingly went back to normal. A battery disconnect and relearn may negate the issues i had, but its probably safer to just get an intake and tune...
