The PERRIN bushing reduces the sloppy feeling during quick gear changes, giving the driver a more precise feel when shifting, especially that crucial 2nd-3rd shift. The shifter bushing is solid brass with specifically placed O-rings which eliminate slop but allows for natural drivetrain movement. Simply replaces the OEM rubber shifter bushing that is easy to install with no special tools required.

Crispy shiftin!

Definitely worth the price and the ten minutes of time it takes to install. The hardest part is lifting the car. Positive tight shifts with this installed. Highly recommended.

Worth doing while your there!

Went ahead and got this while doing the transmission mount and crossmember bushings. Easy to install while you’re already down there and took maybe 10 extra minutes. Far higher quality that OEM and worth the ~$30 in my opinion.

Subtle Difference

Fairly easy install, requires some force and leverage to pop out the factory bushing but other than that no issues.

Slightly better gear engagement when shifting, nothing that will knock your socks off but noticeable enough. Ideally pair this with a short shifter or a shifter plate upgrade.

Inexpensive and great mod to improve factory shifter

This bushing, along with a shifter stop (for 1st-2nd gear) are a great and inexpensive combo to improve the stock/factory shifter on the 2022+ WRX.
