The PRL Motorsports Helix Air Oil Separator (AOS) is designed to remove oil vapor, fuel, and moisture from crankcase blow-by gases before they are recirculated into the intake system. Its internal helix creates centrifugal separation, allowing contaminants to collect in the canister while cleaner air is returned to the intake through the closed-loop PCV system.
The Helix AOS helps reduce the amount of oil vapor, fuel, and moisture entering the intake system. Removing these contaminants can help maintain a cleaner intake tract and reduce the accumulation of oil and other deposits.
The closed-loop design returns cleaned air to the intake rather than venting it to the atmosphere, maintaining factory-style PCV operation.
The AOS is fully serviceable and should be drained periodically. Drain intervals will vary depending on climate, driving conditions, and vehicle usage.
