Installation

Installation of a ring and pinion gear set requires disassembly of the front differential housing, proper measurement and adjustment of bearing preload and backlash, and reassembly to factory torque specifications. This is an advanced mechanical procedure — professional installation by a qualified Subaru technician or experienced drivetrain specialist is strongly recommended. Improper installation can result in differential failure, drivetrain noise, or AWD system damage. Always use genuine Subaru differential fluid and gaskets upon reassembly.
