This Tomei UEL header is definitely out of the ordinary. Get the boxer rumble that you have been missing out on with this Tomei manifold. I definitely recommend this product. It gives the car real personality and it’s exactly what I was looking for to stand out from the rest. The guys at import Image Racing took great care of me — amazing customer service all around. I had it professionally installed, and after a proper tune the product performs great.
I didn’t get this for the rumble and I’m very aware of the issues with this installed on a stock turbo. I bought this because my tuner actually recommended it with my aftermarket single scroll turbo. He said he has had good experiences tuning with these headers and can actually advance timing on the numerous VAs that had these installed. The rumble is a nice bonus and it sounds incredible but I would not have installed them if there was a decrease in performance. They come stainless steel, I had them ceramic coated.
It was totally worth it. It sounds super rowdy and aggressive now. Great rumble
This is my second Tomei UEL. The first one lasted for about 2.5 years before the welds started to crack and I had exhaust leaks. I'm sure I could do the warranty runaround, but I think getting the original welded up and having a spare for when this one inevitably cracks will work too.
Install is super easy if you are not working with the stock exhaust, since the mounting nuts are accessible without having to take the whole turbo down.
Otherwise, when stock, have a professional install this to (hopefully) prevent breaking studs and cross threading bolts.

Honestly.. Seriously think about this. The people that are the loudest and apparently have all the facts on these headers and always telling people why you shouldn't get these are always the people that don't or have never owned these headers. Most of the people that actually own the headers always recommend it. Wanna know why?? Because they're honestly not that bad as people say they are. Most WRX's are dailys. Not track or rally built cars. If you want your wrx to sound a certain way. Just go for it. It's your car. Your money. My wrx is my daily and for a daily how it sounds is a huge factor in the enjoyment of the car. I'll take the 10whp loss for it to sound good. It still sounds better than EL headers on the FA20 IMHO.
Moral of story. Screw what others think. Do what you wanna do to your car. Those people have never owned these headers. From someone who does own these headers and is running them without a tune(getting e tuned soon) just buy them bro
I know it doesnt provide performance but for people like me who loves the sound youd definitely enjoy it. Been running this on my 2020 wrx no issues since 2k miles, now up to 13!
The unequal length give the FA20 a nice Subaru rumble. It’s not quite the infamous EJ rumble, but very close.
get your subie rumble back ::))) can run fine on stock turbo 95k on mine and still making 22.5psi on these headers i love them and check out my ig bodybysmitty if you need some sound clips
